This page aims to help with common activities on the site. See also the Quick Start [0]and A-Z pages [0], and please leave queries and feedback by commenting - link at the bottom of the page.

Get registered and logged in? [0]

At the login/register? [0] link in the left sidebar:

• Enter the login details if you have been sent these (you will have been sent login details if you have registered for a Policy Unplugged events)
• Or click Login/Register, and then Create new account.
• Once registered and logged in, you may change your username? [0] (and password? [0]) at about me->edit->account settings. Blog entries and comments will appear with the firstname lastname you provide.
• If you have lost your password, at Login/Register enter your Username, then click Request new password

Raise my profile

Once you have logged in:

• Go to about me in your personal menu, then click profile and add information
• Go to about me and account settings, and upload a personal picture
• Visit the community groups that you have subscribed to (under My Communities in right sidebar) and start contributing (commenting on the posts of other participants or by creating your own posts).

Change my details

• Log In? [0] and click about me under your personal menu in the left sidebar
• Click edit, then the account settings tab, to change username, email address, password
• Click edit, then profile tab to complete your profile
• Click account settings and tick the check box at the bottom if you want others to email you directly. You can contact others through their profile page.

Find content on the site

• Posts - Find latest content by community group in recent posts
• Blogs? [0] - In each community group you will be able to access all the blogs that have posted under the menu heading "blogs"
• Cool reads - Find files people have uploaded in a Community Group under the menu heading "Cool Reads"
• Whitespace - Find items people are collaborating on in a community group under the menu heading "Whitespace"
• Ideas - Look for categorised items by clicking on tags? [0] in the ideas [0] section of the website
• Search - Use the facility for searching (top right)
  

Create content on the site

• First Login (see above) then select one of your community groups (in My Communities in right sidebar).
• You will then be able to create a new blog item, a cool read item or a whitespace (menu will appear in right sidebar) 
• Follow instructions for appropriate item (blog entry, whitespace etc)
• Add comments to blog entries and other content
• Please note that if you have registered yourself onto the website, you will need to contact us to upgrade your account in order to create your own posts.

Delete my content from the site

• First login, and then if it is a large item (blog or page) click on the headline to take it to a separate page. Then click edit, and scroll down the page to the delete button.
• Comments and small items you have created will have a delete option under the content providing that you have logged in

Use the site for networking

• Fill in your profile with description and some keywords? [0].
• Look at Our Community for a list of all the Policy Unplugged registered members profiles
• Also look at the participant list for each of the different Policy Unplugged community groups - this lists all the members who have subscribed for the community group
• Read blog items, and click the name under any item to find more about the author
• When you reach someone's profile page (via Our Community, participant lists, blog items etc) click the Contact tag to send them a message
• Blog your own item and invite responses
