some say that i never grew up, because i still totally believe in the power of our combined intelligence to transform our planet into a place that offers meaningful, fulfilling and empowering work and home life for everyone. yep, everyone.

thats why i worked with Ultralab for nearly a decade, and had the privilege of leading the team researching and developing Talking Heads and many of the other online learning communities for the NCSL. i am currently working with the research council funded PRADSA (Practical design for social action) project.

i'm really interested in reigniting community, and it seems to me, that 3D environments present an extraordinary opportunity, so reading the news that Ben Sneiderman and Jenny Preece are initiating a citizen's emergency (self help) response web is awesome because an approach like this can lay the infrastructure for something pretty funky.

Interests

3D environments, collaboration, learning, play, participating in developing a culture that empowers folk to "appropriate" technology for communication and exploration and as mind tools, social justice, deep ecology, positive mental health, community empowerment
